Idyllic defines Toni and Creighton’s Lake Club Wedding to a tee. September weddings bring in a fall breeze which cannot be replicated any other time of year. The magical summer sun still hangs around. And by evening you feel the winds changing to crisp and cool. It reminds me of a Mary Poppins wind, as if mother nature is intending to show off at it’s flexibility in the Midwest. But the word idyllic cannot just be about weather. Combine this day with a church straight out of European architecture, a backyard vineyard and pizza oven, a vast lake with manicured lawns, gold, pale pink, and green accents, and the most intensive cookie table of all time. I’ll add in that there were tiny little souls that also moved in and out of this day. There you have idyllic.

Let’s rewind to this backyard vineyard and pizza oven.

This stop during their wedding portraits was at the top of their list. Only a few minutes away from both venues, the pizza oven and vineyard are actually located at Toni’s grandmas house. Everyone in Toni’s family stops by in their wedding garb to have a photo in front of the pizza oven! The vines, a few steps away, are also where Creighton proposed! So heading back there for a few portraits was a no-brainer.

After their beautiful ceremony, and that wedding portraits stop, we headed to The Lake Club for the remainder of their wedding. This was my first time stepping into this space and WOW, I was blown away. Toni & Creighton created a wedding ambiance that could rival a wedding in the middle of Tuscany. Live music played during the evening, the smell of sugar lofted in the air, and beautiful greenery adorned each table. Plus, Cocktail Hour hosted an Antipasto table with food I haven’t seen anywhere but in my own Italian Sunday dinner traditions. (Woody and I were drooling!).

Even if they didn’t have any of the above, these two topped it all by just being themselves. The love and respect they share with one another is beautiful to watch.
