If I were to choose any couple to end my 2021, it would be Edward & David! Hands down. These two and their Glidden House Wedding in Cleveland, Ohio was a perfect blend of personality. Which if I may be so bold: is exactly what every wedding needs!
Is there a limit to the number of adjectives I can use? Colorful, Vibrant, True, Exhilarating, Detailed, Fun, Creative, Bold, Love-filled, and absolute Energetic! From the very first time I digitally met these two humans, I was in love. Not only did they let me use all my favorite Schitt’s Creek gifs, but they also spoke directly to my soul. They wanted a celebration of their love, together. They spoke eloquently about how they met and how they’ve created this world of passion. Passion for their heritage, design, architecture, food, and adventure. If you ever witness them interact it is obvious that they are in awe of one another. And that alone can make even the Grinch’s heart melt.
Firstly, if you’ve never been, please go and just see the outside. It fuels my romantic, quaint, countryside of France in the Fall wedding vibes. And, that is just from the look. The lawn is the best spot for a ceremony with the House as a backdrop. The courtyard is ideal for those moonlit lovers wanting to walk on brick alleyways entranced by twinkle lights. Secondly, travel indoors after a Cleveland-filled day and sip a glass of a signature cocktail in their lounge. You will feel empowered, I promise. Thirdly, flit in and out of their Gothic-type foyer and venture into their reception area to view that natural-lit room ready to hold all the people you love. Finally, the Glidden House is an Inn. You and your guests can stay the evening and enjoy every bit of what it has to offer.
If that didn’t sell it to Edward and David, it was also right around the corner from where David graduated! Case Western Reserve’s campus is full of eclectic and unique backdrops that made for a wonderful space for their Groom Portraits! Woody and I felt truly honored to capture their love and energy!
Edward is a designer and the nerd inside me geeked out at every single detail. They said it best in one of their Midwest Husbands Instagram posts, but for those who want a summary, keep reading! Edward & David designed Root candle place cards and their wooden ring case. The citrus on the invitations and table decorations were a nod to Edward’s hometown in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas where orange and grapefruit trees grow. Their appetizer of a charcuterie board could challenge even the hippest of meat and cheese nerds. Rose petals were thrown as they exited the aisle and their cake. Oh, their cake was a work of magical modern art (scroll to see what I mean). Overall, an abundance of food and Latin music kept every one of their colorfully dressed guests dancing all night long! I’m sure there was something I missed, so scroll down and look for yourself! You will not be disappointed, I swear! // xo
