Marissa and Mike’s intimate Sapphire Creek Winery Wedding spoke directly to my summer heart! This winery holds one of the classiest, and hands down coolest, atmospheres for wedding venues in Chagrin. First, if you just look at the building structure, with its large, open windows and high ceilings. Then follow the grounds and see a twinkle-lit patio, a wine cellar where you can have a private dining experience with friends, and a dedicated space for unburying the bourbon.

Overall, I have a few couples who share in this Southern tradition, but Sapphire Creek’s bourbon experience was unlike any other. Their Bourbon Garden hits all the requirements to find the perfect weather on your day. You receive your slate tag and moment to unbury your bottle and take a shot with your friends. I even went with Marissa and Mike as they buried it the month prior, and let me tell you, it is still one of the coolest things I’ve seen in my nine years of weddings!

Their winery wedding was full of other intimacies that make them perfect though. Not only did they share a video of Mike proposing during Cocktail Hour, but Marissa also opted for a beautiful pearl bouquet instead of flowers and wedding pie instead of cake! My favorite part was after the ceremony. They walked down the aisle straight to the wine cellar in the basement of Sapphire Creek. There, they read handwritten, personal vows to one another. My husband and I both silently cried, and I still get goosebumps thinking of how special this was to witness.

Wine is an intertwining love between Marissa and Mike, as they even have a wine cellar in their basement! It’s safe to say Sapphire Creek Winery made for a perfect backdrop for their celebration!
