If there is anything to appreciate this year, it would be intimate backyard weddings. Originally Emily & Jamie planned a engagement party that would become a surprise elopement!! But even they had to alter their plans. (2020 held zero prisoners!) With constant positivity, these two hosted an intimate ceremony at Emily’s childhood home. It ended with dinner, a few backyard games, one jaw-droppingly artistic wedding cake, and fun decor to make it unique to these two adventurous, english-teaching humans.
Need more to solidify that backyard weddings are where it’s at? Emily had some beautiful things to say about it all: “There’s nothing wrong with a small wedding! Ours was magical, though it wasn’t what we imagined. It’s also totally okay to keep things casual! Want to pour your own champagne? Great. Don’t want to make a big entrance? That’s okay. Prefer to get ready in your childhood bathroom? It works!“
I feel this on a deep level, and won’t bore you with my own thoughts any longer. Let’s scroll to view PART 1 of this beautiful backyard day! Stay tuned for Part 2 coming this summer!// xo
ps: yes they read their own vows to one another before the ceremony, and it was pure MAGIC!
