I think the photographer – couple relationship is truly key for wedding images to be a success. Aside from all the creativity and technical nitty gritties, the relationship between the person behind the camera and the people in front of it, is important.
Many of my couples I know through references, or at least feel like I’ve known over the course of another lifetime.
Making that whole “first date small talk” ten times easier!
For instance – I’ve known Kyle since 2011.
He showed up to visit on our study abroad semester and decided to stay for an entire month.
Over the years he was invited to all of our reunions and still recalls that semester as if he actually was there to study (haha).
When he got engaged and texted me, we didn’t meet at my typical coffee-shop halfway.
I drove to their home.
We drank wine and I met Taylor (and Mosby!), quickly falling in love with the three of them.
They fit, incredibly well, and are genuinely irresistible to be around!
Plus their love for HIMYM made mine just as exciting!
Onto their wedding day!
Because it was one beautiful movie-like happy ending / new beginning!
(Ignore me, I’m just a sappy love human!)
The day started everything off with the bridesmaids icing the groomsmen!
Isn’t that what it’s called? Sometimes my lack of social-ability causes me to miss-use some of the lingo (insert monkey emoji with hands over his eyes here).
During their first look, it was pouring rain, and there is a photo of Kyle with an umbrella which could be the cover of a HIMYM dvd! Ted Mosby anyone? It’s kind of perfect.
We stopped for Swenson’s so they could take a bite of the best burgers in town, but we also ate cake and donuts and they had tiny little bottles of champagne for everyone to take home (so cute!)!
Taylor looked stunning in her gown and the bridal party didn’t let dressing to the nines stop them from having a rambunctious evening!
We found an abandoned Trolly in the middle of Cleveland (almost just waiting for us to get on) and took our time exploring Cleveland since it meant so much to the two of them!
There ceremony was packed with family and loved ones and the reception went welllll into the night! Also, if I may be so bold, BANDS are amazing, and if you ever have the chance to use one for your wedding day I will say that it creates such a different feel for your reception. (I mean see those party goers below!)
Actually just scroll to see their entire day, because good golly miss molly I loved it!!
