Incredible is the word I’d use to describe Amanda and Nick’s Chicago Wedding at Loft Lucia. This entire weekend reminded me why I love traveling in the Fall. When the air gets crisp, I always feel like an adventure is afoot. Which naturally is also the feeling of a wedding day. Add in that Chicago was where these two met, and you’ve got yourself a city life romance!

Amanda + Nick’s city nuptials had a home base in the West Loop / Fulton Market district.

Firstly, they got ready at the chicest boutique hotel (The Hoxton) surrounded by some of the best restaurants in Chicago. We even did their first look in one of the rooms. Scroll to see the room designs (because we don’t have those in Ohio)! More importantly, though, watch for Nick’s expression; it was in awe of Amanda!

The ceremony and reception were located at Loft Lucia.

Secondly, this venue had multiple floors including a rooftop terrace and a room with walls on walls of exposed brick. It was the perfect Chicago location. The simple, yet sophisticated decor accompanied a menu of delicious sandwiches, burgers, and fries with Stan’s Donuts for dessert. Let me tell you: Chicago knows food!

Overall, Amanda and Nick truly have my heart. They were my first engagement session after quarantine (circa April 2020) and planned everything with an open eye, flexibility, and patience. Plus, whether it was using their grandmother’s cake knife from her wedding or even booking a trolley, they found ways to make their day unique. I’ll forever admire their passion for life and the kindness they share with everyone they meet!
