Even though this post is titled a Country Club Wedding in Fairlawn, so much happened before we even made it to the reception. Firstly, Katie and Ryan tied the knot in the middle of July. Their traditional wedding day didn’t stop them from scheduling a first look! And yes, it took place where Katie played hide and go seek as a child 🙂

First looks give so many of my couples a sense of calm on their wedding day. It’s one large reason I love them. I fully respect those that chose not to have one. I will say though, for those of us (yes I lump myself into this group) that need a little anxiety reducing before walking down that aisle, do it.

Regardless the time of day or if your ceremony is in a church or on the grounds of a golf course, spending time with your beau, one on one, is such a special moment in itself. It could be a scheduled first look, like Katie and Ryan’s, or just getting ready together the morning of your wedding. It does not take away from that moment your spouse sees you as you walk down the aisle. I promise!

Secondly, after their Church ceremony (which had everyone in tears), we traveled down the road to a local custard shop (Strickland’s) for a sweet summer treat. In between torrential downpours, these two enjoyed a cone of ice cream. Then we headed to their Country Club Wedding in Fairlawn.

Speaking of, Fairlawn Country Club, it’s a perfect space to hold everything Katie and Ryan wanted! From their massive cookie table (with an ice sculpture!), large guest photo on the brick walkway, cocktail hour looking over the golf course, to those white columns and gorgeous sunset as photo backdrops: they couldn’t go wrong!  Take a scroll down below to see all the laughter, tears, and in all caps: FAMILY that surrounded these two on their day!
